Interior Motives magazine, sister publication of Car Design News, has revealed its shortlist for the seventh annual Interior Motives Design Awards. Handed down by a ten-strong panel of industry experts, the shortlist will be further reviewed before three finalists and a winner for each of the eight categories - and the overall competition winner - is ultimately selected and awarded on the eve of the second press day of the Frankfurt auto show. The Audi A1 quattro snow testing in Canada
It did seem a strange omission by Audi not to have a quattro drivetrain for the ‘Only Premium Brand in its Sector’ Audi A1. And it was that lack of a quattro system for the A1 which apparently stopped the car that ended up being the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI from being launched as the Audi S1 at Paris last year. All of which has no doubt spurred Audi on to see development of a quattro platform for the A1.
The Mercedes GLA 45 AMG Concept has been revealed in LA
Over the weekend we had a teaser video from AMG for the GLA 45 AMG Concept, although Mercedes didn’t actually name it as such. But a GLA with the same powertrain as the A 45 and CLA 45 AMG is exactly what Mercedes’ AMG concept tease was, and it’s now been revealed in LA ahead of a likely debut in production form in 2014. The GLA 45 AMG Concept gets bold graphics – something buyers would be unlikely to want – and 21″ forged alloys painted matt black with a red rim and red brake callipers to shout its intent.
